Elevation data in Memory-Map Discoverer US State sets. To load the elevation data, use the Maps/Elevation... menu command, browse to the folder where the maps are loaded (usually C:\Maps\<state>) and open the .QED file.
Memory-Map Crashes when opening NDI Digital Ocean charts. This problem is corrected in the latest version. See the download page.
Maps on Large storage cards. If you are loading a large amount of map data onto a storage card for use on the Pocket PC, you should use a card reader to mount the card directly on the PC, instead of connecting through the Pocket PC. This is not only much faster, but it avoids some reliability problems with the transferred data.
The Pocket PC keeps losing my overlay data when I turn it off. There are a number of things that can cause this. A sure way to get around all of them is to tap Menu / Exit in Pocket Navigator before turning off the Pocket PC. You may also want to use the new Menu / Overlay / Backup command, to save any valuable overlay data to a storage card.
The data loss is caused when Pocket Navigator is terminated unexpectedly. This happens when you reset the Pocket PC, and when you change the Pocket PC battery. Always tap Menu / Exit before resetting or changing the battery. Note that clicking the window close button (X at the top right of the screen) does not exit the application. Always use the Menu / Exit command.
If you are using a Bluetooth GPS, and the Pocket PC locks up requiring a reset when you turn it on, check your Pocket PC manufacturers web site for a firmware update. This is a known problem with the Bluetooth driver software on certain HP Pocket PCs.
If you are using an SD storage card for your maps, and the Pocket Navigator window disappears when you scroll the map after switching on, check for a firmware upgrade. Most Pocket PCs allow you to switch off and on during SD card data access, but some have problems with this. Consider installing your maps to the Pocket PC's main memory instead of SD card.
